Skiri Trophy is 100% Made in Fiemme
Time for 39th Skiri Trophy XCountry this weekend in Val di Fiemme, Trentino (IT) Almost 1300 XCO young skiers, soul of this upcoming edition
Many foreign countries registered for this cool and classic event Saturday for U10, U12 and Revival, Sunday for U14 and U16
Along Lago di Tesero’s track, in Val di Fiemme, more than 1270 athletes are coming to Val di Fiemme this weekend, for the 39th edition of Skiri Trophy, the cross-country skiing event invented by GS Castello. For many young people, it represents the very first approach to an international professional context. Italy and other countries, among them Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Andorra and Spain, are coming to Trentino for the ‘mundialito’. OC is working on the last technical details in order to amaze the young athletes’ eyes. U10 and U12 are starting at 2 pm on Saturday January 21st, Revival follows at 3.30 pm. Revival is the event dedicated to those who once took part to Skiri Trophy as kids, and now feel a little nostalgic. Revival gets every year many participants and 2023 edition is no less. U14 and U16 are showing up on Sunday 22nd at 9.30 am, always along the fascinating, as difficult, World and Olympic tracks in Lago di Tesero. There will be many entertainment activities in both Lago di Tesero and Castello di Fiemme, for children and their families. On Saturday afternoon, starting from 5.30 pm, the welcoming ceremony takes place with the different countries parading through Castello di Fiemme, together with the mascot Skiri and the local social band of Molina di Fiemme, and a delightful surprise. In order to celebrate the first 40 years of history, special awards will be handed to the founders, ex-presidents and coordinators. Afterwards, the lighting of the tripod will fill with magic the atmosphere. Awarding ceremony takes place in Castello di Fiemme at 2.30 pm on Sunday, with a special thanks to Fedelissimi. In Lago di Tesero, at the end of each competition, some entertainment activities are accompanying audience and athletes. Bib distribution is at Lago di Tesero Cross Country Stadium from Friday January 20th from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm. Team captains’ meeting takes place on the same day at the centro polifunzionale in Castello di Fiemme at 8.30 pm. 150 passionate volunteers are ready to make young athletes smile, with great effort, supporting this event for many years. To win Skiri Trophy is good, to take part is better!
